The Ubiquitous Weeds
In the process of looking for and studying flowers, Cy noticed the interesting shapes and textures of weeds. Always scorned and downtrodden, weeds are the “shadow side” of the garden, but to Cy, these unwanted plants are every bit as fascinating as the plants gardeners cultivate.
As printed by Keith Taylor in the earthy process of photogravure, Cy’s close-up photos of weeds take on a darkly mysterious, dramatic quality.
What would the world be, once bereft Of wet and of wildness? Let them be left, Let them be left, wildness and wet;
Long live the weeds and the wilderness yet.
